As my "mushies" week winds down to a close (with one more week to go), I found yesterday almost to be IMPOSSIBLE to get my protein in. I thought I would be creative and try to make a new "smoothie" with my protein powder- it was disgusting! I took 1/4c greek yogurt (5g protein), 1/4c skim milk (2g protein), ice, 1/2c water, a decaf instant coffee and 1/2 scoop of protein powder (12g protein). Ummmm wow. I think I'll leave the smoothies to just keeping it simple and adding a full scoop of protein powder to ice/water and be done with it! This week has taught me that yes, although I can have a mashed potato, or soft veggies, I MUST get my protein in first. Still a work in progress.
I made it through my first restaurant challenge when going out to one of my favorite pizzaria's, Pirrones with my parents, son and future daughter-in-law. I know, I know most people say, how rude of them to even ask you, but it was a great way to visit with my family and I ACTUALLY didn't eat a thing! I drank my tea and was ok with it. Prudence (that's my band's name- YES I've named my band thank you very much!) and I have a great relationship. I respect the fact that if I feed her something she doesn't like, she will just sit on it and maybe block her hole. Nobody likes a blocked hole! I'm actually terrified of getting something "stuck", so as much as I wanted to dive into a bite of pizza, I gave Prudence, and more importantly myself the respect we deserve!
